Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces rising global disapproval, according to a recent survey by Gallup International. The survey covered 58 countries and revealed that 37 percent of respondents consider Modi unpopular, while 38 percent claimed they did not know enough about him to form an opinion.

The results indicate a 9 percent increase in the share of global respondents expressing disfavor toward Modi compared to 2019. The highest levels of dislike were recorded in South Korea at 73 percent, Iran at 64 percent, Iraq at 62 percent and Syria at 60 percent. In Pakistan, 53 percent of respondents expressed disapproval of Modi.

Despite global criticism, Modi retains overwhelming support within India, where 82 percent of citizens described him as favorable. The survey underscores a sharp contrast between Modi’s domestic popularity and his international perception, highlighting the challenges the Indian leader faces in managing global public opinion amid regional tensions and international scrutiny.
