A recent survey suggests that a majority of Americans believe that former President Donald Trump used the conflict with Iran as a political tool to divert public attention from the notorious Jeffrey Epstein scandal.
According to the survey conducted by a leading American website, 52 percent of respondents think that Trump deliberately escalated tensions with Iran during his presidency to distract from the potential political and reputational damage caused by the Epstein case.
Meanwhile, 40 percent of Americans disagreed with this view, while the remaining 8 percent were uncertain about the connection.
Public sentiment has led many Americans to sarcastically rename Trump’s military action against Iran, originally called Operation Epic Fury as Operation Epstein Fury in online discussions and social media platforms.
Political analysts suggest that the perception of using international conflicts for domestic political gains could have lasting effects on Trump’s approval ratings and public trust. The survey highlights growing skepticism among Americans about the motivations behind major foreign policy decisions during Trump’s administration.
