Aleema Khan Breaks Silence on Viral Jail Meeting Claim, What She Revealed Sparks Fresh Questions

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

ISLAMABAD: Aleema Khan, sister of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has strongly rejected social media reports claiming that a former army chief met the former prime minister in Adiala Jail, describing the claims as entirely false and misleading.

In a statement shared on social media platform X, Aleema Khan said the reports had been verified with Gohar Ali Khan, who also confirmed that no such meeting had taken place. She maintained that the information circulating online was inaccurate and lacked any factual basis.

Aleema alleged that the spread of such reports was part of a broader disinformation campaign intended to divert public attention from what she described as the complete isolation of Imran Khan during his incarceration. According to her, misleading narratives were being used to overshadow concerns regarding the PTI founder’s conditions in custody.

She further claimed that Imran Khan has been denied several basic rights, including access to appropriate medical treatment for an eye-related condition at a hospital. Aleema also alleged that he has been unable to communicate with his sons and has been deprived of books and other reading materials for the past six months.

Additionally, she said the former prime minister has not been provided access to television and has remained cut off from the outside world, with only two lawyer visits permitted under court orders during this period.

Highlighting legal proceedings related to visitation rights, Aleema stated that a full bench of the court had issued directives allowing regular meetings with family members, lawyers and party representatives. Under those orders, six family members and six lawyers are permitted to visit on Tuesdays, while six party representatives are allowed to meet him on Thursdays, amounting to at least 18 visitors each week.

She argued that these visitation rights are protected under Pakistan’s legal framework as well as international legal standards and called on authorities to implement the court’s directives in full.

The remarks come amid continued political debate over the detention conditions of Imran Khan, who remains incarcerated in Adiala Jail while facing multiple legal cases.
