NOWSHERA: (Anwarzaib Khan) District Police Officer Ahmed Shah held a high-level meeting in the newly developed DPO Complex conference hall to revise the security plans of the upcoming anti-polio vaccination campaign, police officers indicated on Friday.
SDPOs of different circles, station house officers (SHOs) as well as in-charges of basic health units (BHUs) attended the meeting. The core area of interest was to determine possible security risks during the campaign and complete an overall plan in order to guarantee the safety of polio workers in the district.
Addressing the audience, Ahmed Shah has made it clear that the polio workers are doing an important national task by immunizing children below the age of five against the crippling disease. He assured that the police have their lives at the first line of priority, and irresponsibility in security setups would not be condoned.
The DPO gave out directives explaining that all officers and other personnel deployed to polio duty must wear their protective jackets, be vigilant at all times and should avoid unnecessary use of mobile phones when at their duty. He also instructed the sending of more police personnel in sensitive places and instructed the authorities to increase patrolling during the entire campaign season.
