LAHORE: (Yaseen Hashmi) Dr. Usman is the new Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), according to the officials and observers, a new era of institutional reform has begun in the organization.
Dr. Usman has been known as a transformational and professional leader during his rule in the Punjab Police and gained national recognition due to the introduction of far reaching reforms that sought to enhance efficiency, accountability and service delivery to the people. The Punjab Police was transformed under his leadership into a form of structure and operation that was highly acclaimed in the law enforcement circles.
Since he has been appointed as DG FIA, it is hoped that the same type of reforms will be brought to the Federal Government. His senior officials feel that the fresh leadership will increase transparency, performance of operations, and effectiveness of law enforcement in combating organized crime, corruption, and cyber related crimes.
Dr. Usman is popularly known in the strategic vision, practical management style and reform-oriented approach. Analysts also indicate that his background in coping with complicated policing scenarios makes him better suited to streamline the FIA and rebuild more trust of the people in the organization.
Within the next few months, the citizens will see the actual change in the performance and service levels of the agency. The country has also conveyed its congratulations to Dr. Usman as he assumes this important national task.
