Iran says eight civilians, including two brothers with disabilities, were killed in alleged US airstrikes targeting infrastructure in Hormozgan, while Washington has not publicly responded to the claims.
Iran has released images of eight civilians it says were killed in overnight US airstrikes in the southern province of Hormozgan, escalating accusations against Washington as tensions between the two countries continue to rise.
According to Iranian state media, the victims included four women and four men, among them two brothers with disabilities. Iranian authorities alleged that the civilians were killed after US strikes targeted bridges and nearby infrastructure in Hormozgan during the overnight operation.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned the reported attacks in a statement on X, accusing the United States of carrying out another “clear war crime.” He claimed the strikes deliberately targeted civilian infrastructure, resulting in the deaths of innocent people.
Baghaei said the incident had further strengthened national unity, adding that the Iranian people remained determined to defend the country against what he described as external aggression. He also warned that those responsible would face consequences for the alleged attacks.
Separately, Iran’s foreign minister shared photographs of three civilians reportedly killed near Bandar Khamir, stating they were crossing a bridge when it was struck.
