Authorities in Islamabad intensified enforcement against traffic violations, unpaid token taxes, and irregular vehicle registrations during a major operation at Gulberg Greens.
A large-scale enforcement operation was conducted in Islamabad’s Gulberg Greens area, where authorities launched a joint checkpoint campaign to ensure compliance with vehicle registration and taxation laws.
The operation was led by the Assistant Commissioner Nilore in collaboration with the Excise Department. During the crackdown, officials imposed fines on 52 vehicles for using tinted windows and non-standard number plates, both of which violate existing traffic regulations.
Authorities also took action against vehicles with unpaid token taxes. Several vehicles were shifted to the local police station after owners failed to provide proof of tax payment. The campaign further resulted in the seizure of three suspicious tampered vehicles and two unregistered vehicles for further investigation.
Deputy Commissioner Islamabad, Irfan Memon, directed assistant commissioners across the capital to continue joint enforcement operations with the Excise Department in their respective jurisdictions. He emphasized strict action against the use of unauthorized number plates and tinted vehicle windows.
Officials also highlighted the government’s efforts to facilitate citizens through online token tax payment services. According to the administration, digital payment options have been introduced to make tax compliance easier and more convenient for vehicle owners.
The DC Islamabad further stated that procedures related to vehicle registration have been simplified to improve public access and encourage legal compliance. Authorities urged motorists to ensure that their vehicles are properly registered, taxed, and in accordance with traffic regulations to avoid penalties.
