$15 Million Mahnoor Safdar Necklace Claim Raises Questions Over Jewellery Value

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The viral $15 million valuation of Mahnoor Safdar’s yellow diamond necklace remains unverified, while the jewellery’s exact price has not been publicly confirmed.

Mahnoor Safdar, daughter of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, has drawn widespread attention to her bridal jewellery following her nikkah ceremony, with particular focus on a diamond necklace and matching earrings attributed to luxury jeweller Mouawad.

The necklace features a large yellow diamond at its centre, identified in Mouawad’s description as the “Mouawad Dragon.” According to the jeweller, the centre stone is a 54.21-carat round brilliant-cut Fancy Vivid yellow diamond, described as an exceptionally rare and high-quality coloured diamond.

The necklace forms part of a larger jewellery set that also includes earrings, a bracelet and a ring. Mahnoor was seen wearing the necklace and matching earrings, along with diamond rings and a Rolex watch.

However, claims circulating on social media that the necklace and earrings are worth around $15 million have not been independently verified. The figure, equivalent to roughly Rs4.15 billion or about Rs450 crore, has not been publicly confirmed by Mouawad as the price of the jewellery worn by Mahnoor.

The uncertainty has been further fuelled by comparisons between Mahnoor’s necklace and a Royal Carina Statement Necklace associated with jewellery designer Anna Zuckerman. The publicly listed price of that design is considerably lower than the viral $15 million estimate.

Such comparisons, however, may not establish the actual value of Mahnoor’s jewellery. The pieces could have been customised, and differences in the diamonds used, craftsmanship and specifications can significantly affect the final price.

As a result, the widely shared $15 million figure should be regarded as an unverified estimate rather than a confirmed valuation.

Mahnoor’s Rolex watch has also attracted attention, with social media estimates placing its value at around $11,000, or approximately Rs3 million. The specific model and purchase price have not been independently established in the information available.

Mahnoor recently married Azan Jabbar, son of industrialist Jabbar Khalid. The couple have also attracted attention because of their academic connection. Azan holds a bachelor’s degree from SOAS University of London, where Mahnoor recently completed her studies.

The discussion around Mahnoor’s jewellery has also highlighted the premium associated with natural coloured diamonds. Natural yellow diamonds are significantly rarer than conventional colourless diamonds, while stones with strong and vivid colour can command substantially higher prices.
