NADRA Issues Security Alert for Pak ID Account Users, Urges Caution

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

NADRA urges citizens to create Pak ID accounts themselves and keep passwords, mobile numbers, email addresses and other sensitive information secure.

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued important security guidance for citizens using Pak ID accounts, urging them to take precautions to protect their personal and sensitive information.

NADRA advised citizens to create their Pak ID accounts themselves using their personal mobile phones. Having an account created by another person could expose sensitive account information to an unauthorized individual.

The authority said citizens who had their Pak ID accounts created by someone else should change their passwords immediately as a precautionary measure. Changing the password can help reduce the risk of unauthorized access to the account.

NADRA also advised users to choose a strong password that cannot be easily guessed by others. Citizens should not share their passwords, login information or other sensitive account details with friends, relatives, agents or any other person.

Use your own mobile number and email

According to NADRA’s guidance, the mobile phone number and email address registered with a Pak ID account should belong to the account holder.

Using another person’s mobile number or email address could result in important account-related information and communications being accessible to an unauthorized individual.

Citizens should regularly check the contact information associated with their accounts. If they find a mobile number, email address or other detail that does not belong to them, they should take steps to have the information corrected.

Do not share account information

NADRA has emphasized that Pak ID account information should be kept confidential. Users should avoid providing their passwords, login credentials or other sensitive details to anyone else.

The authority’s guidance is particularly important for people using online services related to identity documents, where protecting personal information is essential. Citizens should ensure that access to their accounts remains under their own control and avoid giving unnecessary access to others.

NADRA helpline available for assistance

NADRA has also provided its 1777 helpline for citizen assistance. Users facing a security issue with their Pak ID account or requiring guidance about protecting their information can contact the authority for assistance.

NADRA urged citizens to make the protection of their personal information a priority while using digital services. Users of Pak ID services should keep account access under their control and take appropriate security measures if they encounter any suspicious situation.
