Newly appointed District Police Officer Sonia Shamroz Khan paid tribute to martyrs and outlined key policing priorities focused on public trust, merit, and citizen-friendly policing.
Sonia Shamroz Khan officially assumed her responsibilities as the new District Police Officer (DPO) of Nowshera, marking the beginning of her tenure with a tribute to fallen police personnel and a clear vision for public-focused policing.
Upon her arrival, the newly appointed DPO visited the Martyrs’ Memorial at Police Lines, where she laid a floral wreath and offered prayers for the departed officers. She also recorded her remarks in the visitors’ book, honoring the sacrifices made by police personnel in the line of duty.
Later, Sonia Shamroz Khan chaired an introductory meeting with police officers from across the district at the conference hall of the New DPO Complex. Addressing the participants, she urged officers to uphold professionalism, dedication, and integrity while performing their duties.
She emphasized that every officer should contribute to enhancing the reputation of the police department through hard work and a strong sense of responsibility. She also stressed that rebuilding public confidence in law enforcement would remain a top priority.
The DPO highlighted that issues faced by women, senior citizens, and children would receive special attention. She reaffirmed her commitment to ensuring the rule of law, merit-based policing, and respectful treatment of citizens as the guiding principles of the district police.
