Pakistani security sources have confirmed that Pakistan has successfully achieved its target in Bagram, destroying Afghan Taliban ammunition support infrastructure. The strikes, part of Operation Ghazb ul Haqq, are intelligence based and aimed solely at terrorist networks not Afghan civilians. Security officials emphasized that the operation targets Taliban linked terrorism affecting Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with over 50 strikes carried out against Taliban positions so far.
Sources stated that mid-level leadership of the Tehrik e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has been eliminated, and 226 TTP check posts have been destroyed in Afghanistan, while 36 posts have been captured. Officials stressed that Pakistan’s strategy is strictly anti terrorism and intelligence driven and civilian populations are not targeted.
The operation also underlines Pakistan’s call for Afghanistan to stop allowing its territory to be used against Pakistan. Security sources noted that Afghanistan has become a master proxy for terrorism, with 22 terrorist organizations reportedly operating there, according to UN reports.
Authorities highlighted that Pakistan’s military though having a smaller defense budget than Iran, maintains strong global relations and superior operational capabilities. Officials emphasized that Pakistan has no intention to invade Afghanistan and insists that the Afghan people themselves decide on governance changes.
Pakistan has delivered a clear message to Afghanistan: hand over TTP leadership or face continued targeted operations.
