Pakistan is expected to host key diplomatic talks between United States and Iran in Islamabad later this week, as mediating countries push for dialogue amid rising tensions.
According to sources, the proposed meeting aims to bring both sides to the negotiating table in an effort to ease the ongoing conflict. The Iranian delegation is likely to be led by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, along with other senior officials from Tehran.
On the US side, representatives may include envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, with the possible participation of Vice President J. D. Vance.
Diplomatic sources say the talks could take place by the end of the week if arrangements are finalized. The initiative reflects growing international efforts to de-escalate tensions and promote dialogue between the two countries.
