The government has reduced petrol and high-speed diesel prices for a three-day period from November 7 to November 10, offering temporary relief to consumers.
ISLAMABAD: The government has reduced the price of petrol by Rs6.59 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs4.25 per litre for a limited period, providing temporary relief to consumers facing rising fuel costs.
According to an official notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), the revised price of petrol has been fixed at Rs346 per litre following the reduction. Meanwhile, the price of high-speed diesel has been brought down to Rs378 per litre.
The new petroleum prices will remain effective from November 7 to November 10, according to the notification. The government has announced the revised rates for a three-day period.
Under the latest adjustment, petrol consumers will pay Rs6.59 less per litre, while diesel users will benefit from a reduction of Rs4.25 per litre.
The temporary reduction is expected to provide some financial relief to motorists, transporters and other consumers who depend on petroleum products for their daily transportation and business activities.
Petrol is widely used by private vehicle owners, motorcyclists and other commuters, while high-speed diesel is an important fuel for public transport, commercial vehicles and various economic activities.
The adjustment comes amid rising fuel costs, which have increased financial pressure on households and businesses. Changes in petroleum prices also affect transportation expenses and can influence the cost of moving goods and providing services.
However, the relief announced by the government is limited to the three-day period specified in the notification. Consumers will have to wait for any subsequent government announcement regarding petroleum prices after November 10.
The latest decision provides a temporary reduction in fuel expenses, although its longer-term impact will depend on the government’s subsequent pricing decisions.
