Streamlined logistics and digital tools to ensure a smooth Hajj journey for Pakistani pilgrims
WEB DESK: Pakistan is set to commence its month-long Hajj flight operations on April 18, 2026, as authorities gear up to transport over 119,000 pilgrims to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony confirmed that 468 flights have been scheduled over a 34-day period, concluding on May 21. The operation will involve a consortium of carriers, including Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), AirBlue, Air Sial, and Saudia Airlines, departing from eight major cities nationwide.
On the inaugural day, four flights are expected to depart for Madinah from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan. The ministry has divided the flights into two phases to streamline logistics and ensure a smooth journey for pilgrims under the official government scheme, comprising 67,230 men and 51,846 women.
The first 15 days will focus exclusively on Madinah, with 186 flights dedicated to the holy city. The second phase, targeting Jeddah, will begin on May 4 with 282 flights. Islamabad is projected to handle the highest volume with 129 flights, followed closely by Karachi and Lahore.
Authorities have completed all biometric and visa formalities, and pilgrims are being encouraged to use the ‘Pak Hajj’ mobile application to track flight schedules, accommodation details, and other essential updates.
