Technical failure in PSL e-ticketing system forces authorities to halt online sales, while physical ticket counters are activated to manage growing fan demand ahead of the playoff clash in Karachi.
The PSL playoff ticket sales suspended situation has caused widespread concern among cricket fans after the Pakistan Super League’s online ticketing system abruptly went offline ahead of a crucial playoff match in Karachi.
According to details, the qualifier featuring Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United was expected to attract a massive crowd, but an unexpected surge in traffic on the ticketing website led to a system overload. The disruption forced authorities to temporarily suspend e-ticket sales.
Officials associated with the league management stated that the platform experienced unusually high demand within a short span of time, causing technical instability. Engineers and IT teams are actively working to restore the system and expect online ticket sales to resume shortly.
To ensure fans are not left without access, the Pakistan Cricket Board has activated alternative arrangements. Physical ticket sales began early in the morning at designated courier service offices located in Gulshan and Gulistan-e-Johar, allowing supporters to purchase tickets in person.
In addition, a temporary ticket counter has been established at China Ground parking area, which opened at noon to handle the increasing rush of spectators looking to secure entry for the high-stakes encounter.
Cricket analysts note that such disruptions are not uncommon during major sporting events in the country, where sudden spikes in demand often overwhelm digital infrastructure. However, they emphasize that stronger and more scalable systems are essential as the PSL continues to grow in popularity and commercial value.
Fans, meanwhile, have expressed frustration over the inconvenience but remain hopeful that the issue will be resolved before match time so they can witness the playoff action live without further disruption.
