Punjab Farmers Receive Massive Boost as Maryam Nawaz Reviews Landmark Agriculture Projects

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Punjab’s agriculture sector received a major policy boost as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reviewed farmer welfare initiatives, highlighting record interest-free loans, widespread Kisan Card distribution, and an expanded Green Tractor Program.

Punjab’s agriculture sector remained in focus as Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of farmer welfare initiatives, agricultural mechanization, and ongoing development projects aimed at strengthening food production across the province.

Officials informed the meeting that 900,000 Kisan Cards have been issued across Punjab, enabling farmers to access interest-free agricultural financing. According to the briefing, farmers have received interest-free loans worth Rs360 billion, while the repayment rate has reached an impressive 99 percent, reflecting strong participation and effective implementation of the program.

The meeting was also told that nearly 80 percent of the loan amount has been utilized for fertilizer purchases, a move expected to improve crop yields and enhance agricultural productivity during the upcoming cultivation seasons.

Addressing the participants, Maryam Nawaz said that 34,000 Green Tractors are being distributed across Punjab in three phases. She added that, for the first time in the province’s history, a total of 50,000 tractors will be provided over a three-year period to modernize farming practices and improve efficiency.
