The Interior Ministry has authorized Rangers to provide assistance to police in response to violent activities and attacks by armed groups.
ISLAMABAD: The deployment of Rangers in Islamabad and several districts of Punjab has been approved, with the Interior Ministry authorizing the paramilitary force to assist police under the applicable legal powers.
The approval was granted following requests from the Chief Commissioner of Islamabad and the Punjab government, according to a notification issued by the Interior Ministry.
The notification stated that Rangers and police should take appropriate and necessary action in response to attacks by violent and armed groups.
It further directed both forces to take all necessary measures to deal with any violent activity or potential threat.
The deployment is intended to support law enforcement agencies in maintaining security and responding to situations involving violence or armed attacks.
