“Rawalpindi Transformed Overnight: CM Maryam Nawaz Inaugurates Game-Changing ‘Battle of Truth Square’ Project”

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Rawalpindi experienced a significant urban transformation moment as Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif inaugurated a landmark traffic and infrastructure project at Kachehri Chowk Rawalpindi, officially naming it “Battle of Truth Square” in a move linked with the broader national development narrative associated with Operation Bunyān al-Marsoos.

The inauguration marks a strategic push to resolve long-standing traffic congestion issues in the city. According to official details, the upgraded system includes an advanced signal-free corridor designed to streamline vehicular movement and significantly reduce travel delays across key urban arteries.

During the visit, the Chief Minister inspected the newly constructed overhead bridge and surrounding road infrastructure, including the Anexi Chowk to GPO Chowk corridor. Authorities confirmed that the corridor is expected to handle more than 200,000 vehicles daily, offering substantial relief to commuters facing persistent gridlocks.

A key highlight of the project is the construction of the region’s first state-of-the-art pedestrian bridge within the newly designated square, aimed at improving both safety and traffic flow for pedestrians and motorists.

The broader development plan extends beyond the city center, featuring a 25-kilometer signal-free corridor stretching from Rawat to the motorway. The project includes nine underpasses and three flyovers, forming one of the most ambitious traffic restructuring initiatives in the region.

Officials stated that two phases of the Rawat-to-motorway corridor have already been completed, while the final phase is expected to be delivered soon. Additional underpasses are also planned at Race Course, Chohar Chowk, and AFIC Chowk to further enhance traffic efficiency.

Authorities emphasized that the project is part of a long-term vision to modernize Rawalpindi’s road network and ensure uninterrupted traffic flow across major routes. The Chief Minister directed relevant departments to accelerate remaining work and ensure timely completion to maximize public benefit.

As portions of the project are expected to open to traffic from Monday evening, residents anticipate immediate improvements in daily commuting patterns, signaling a potential turning point in Rawalpindi’s urban mobility landscape.
