Actor and host Arsala Siddiqui says changing social values, financial pressures and evolving relationship expectations could reshape marriage trends in Pakistan after 2030.
Pakistani television actor and host Arsala Siddiqui has sparked widespread debate after suggesting that many Pakistanis may stop getting married after 2030 as social attitudes and modern-day challenges continue to reshape relationships. Her comments quickly went viral, prompting mixed reactions across social media.
Speaking in a recent interview, Arsala said marriage has become increasingly difficult for younger generations due to rising financial pressures, changing priorities and evolving expectations. She noted that many young people are delaying marriage to focus on higher education, career growth and achieving financial stability before starting a family.
She also highlighted the rising cost of living and increasingly expensive wedding ceremonies, arguing that these economic realities have made marriage less attainable for many households. According to Arsala, younger generations are becoming more independent and less willing to compromise, making long-term relationships more challenging than in previous decades.
The actor further pointed to increasing divorce rates and relationship conflicts, saying that witnessing unsuccessful marriages often discourages young adults from making lifelong commitments.
However, Arsala clarified that her remarks reflected a personal opinion based on current social trends rather than a factual prediction. She emphasized that relationships built on trust, respect and mutual understanding would always remain meaningful.
