Advance Salaries Before Eid? Finance Ministry Letter Sparks Nationwide Attention

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

The Government of Pakistan has issued an important directive regarding the early payment of salaries and pensions ahead of Eid-ul-Adha 2026, bringing relief to thousands of federal employees and pensioners across the country.

According to an official notification issued by the Ministry of Finance on May 12, 2026, Muslim government servants and pensioners will receive their pay, allowances, and pensions for the month of May in advance due to the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha holidays.

The notification, signed by Deputy Secretary Muhammad Anwar, stated that Eid-ul-Adha is expected to be observed on May 27 or May 28, 2026, subject to moon sighting in Pakistan. In light of the religious festival, the ministry requested that payments be disbursed on May 22, 2026.

The letter was addressed to the Controller General of Accounts in Islamabad with copies forwarded to key departments, including the Accountant General Pakistan Revenues, Military Accountant General, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The decision is expected to ease financial pressure on government employees and pensioners preparing for Eid-related expenses, including travel, sacrificial animal purchases, and household shopping.

The announcement quickly gained attention on social media, where many users welcomed the move and praised the government for facilitating citizens before one of the country’s biggest religious festivals.
