Security forces recover weapons, explosives and vehicle during operation as counter-terrorism efforts continue under Azm-e-Istehkam.
Pakistan’s security forces killed six suspected terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Panjgur district of Balochistan, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In a statement issued on Thursday, ISPR said the operation was launched after receiving intelligence reports regarding the presence of militants allegedly linked to what the military described as an Indian proxy network, “Fitna al-Hindustan.” Security personnel targeted multiple suspected hideouts in a coordinated operation across the district.
According to the military, security forces engaged the militants during the operation, leading to an intense exchange of fire. As a result, six suspected terrorists were killed.
The military’s media wing stated that a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and a vehicle was recovered from the slain militants. Officials alleged that the individuals were involved in several terrorist incidents and acts of sabotage in the region.
Panjgur, located in southwestern Balochistan, has witnessed periodic security operations in recent years as authorities continue efforts to counter militant activity and maintain stability in the province.
ISPR further said that sanitisation operations remain underway in the area to ensure that no remaining militant elements are present. Security forces are continuing search and clearance activities following the completion of the main operation.
The statement added that Pakistan’s nationwide counter-terrorism campaign under the framework of Azm-e-Istehkam will continue with full force, emphasizing the state’s commitment to combating militancy and strengthening security across the country.
Military officials reiterated their resolve to eliminate foreign-sponsored terrorism and support long-term peace, security, and development in Balochistan and other affected regions.
