Government Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha enters its final operational phase as Punjab ministers review progress ahead of the expected inauguration by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz this month.
The Government Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha has entered its final phase of completion, bringing the region closer to a major upgrade in specialized cardiac healthcare. Senior Punjab officials inspected the project and confirmed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to inaugurate the state-of-the-art facility later this month.
Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, Communications Minister Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bherth, and Adviser to the Chief Minister on Political Affairs Zeeshan Ashiq Malik reviewed construction progress, installation of advanced medical equipment, and operational preparations during their visit.
Officials were informed that the hospital’s outpatient department is already examining more than 150 patients daily. Cardiac catheterization laboratories, operation theaters, an advanced pathology laboratory, a gamma camera unit, and other major departments have been completed, while installation of modern medical equipment is progressing rapidly ahead of full operations.
Khawaja Salman Rafique said the institute will provide modern and high-quality cardiac care to millions of residents of Sargodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, and surrounding areas. Malik Sohaib Ahmed Bherth described the project as a key part of the Punjab government’s public welfare vision and a major milestone for cardiac treatment in the region.
