GWM ORA 5 Launches in Pakistan at Rs 8.6 Million With 435 km Range

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

GWM ORA 5 enters Pakistan with a 58.33 kWh battery, 435 km WLTP range and premium features at an ex-factory price of Rs 8.599 million.

GWM has officially launched the ORA 5 electric crossover in Pakistan at an ex-factory price of Rs 8.599 million, adding a new contender to the country’s increasingly competitive electric vehicle market.

The ORA 5 combines a 58.3 kWh LFP battery with a 150 kW electric motor and a claimed WLTP range of up to 435 km. GWM’s international specifications also list DC fast charging of up to 120 kW, with a 10-80% charging time of about 30 minutes under suitable conditions.

The pricing puts the ORA 5 directly into a segment where buyers are already comparing electric crossovers such as the BYD Atto 3. GWM is clearly betting that a combination of range, equipment and SUV proportions can attract customers who want an EV without moving beyond the Rs 9 million price bracket.

With around 204 PS and 260 Nm of torque, the front-wheel-drive ORA 5 is positioned as a practical yet reasonably quick family crossover. International specifications indicate a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of roughly 7.5 seconds.

The vehicle measures about 4.47 metres long, 1.83 metres wide and 1.64 metres high, with a wheelbase of approximately 2.72 metres. Its dimensions give it a substantially larger presence than a typical city-focused electric hatchback.

Inside, the ORA 5 takes a premium-oriented approach, offering features such as ventilated front seats, a panoramic glass roof and a spacious cabin. Vehicle-to-load functionality is also available in international markets, allowing the battery to supply power to compatible external equipment.

The claimed 435 km range is likely to be one of the model’s biggest selling points in Pakistan. However, actual driving range can vary depending on speed, traffic, weather, air-conditioning use, road conditions and driving style.

The launch also highlights the growing importance of after-sales support in Pakistan’s EV market. Beyond the purchase price and range figures, buyers are likely to consider charging infrastructure, spare-parts availability, service coverage, battery warranty and future resale value before making a decision.

GWM’s eight-year or 150,000-kilometre warranty package adds another consideration for prospective buyers.

The ORA 5 therefore arrives with a straightforward proposition: a relatively large battery, more than 400 km of claimed WLTP range, modern crossover dimensions and premium features at Rs 8.599 million.
