Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the attempted drone attack and reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and the security of Haramain Sharifain.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attempted drone attack against a holy site in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, describing the incident as a reprehensible and unforgivable act.
In a post on X, Shehbaz Sharif said the people of Pakistan were “saddened and perturbed” by the incident and expressed deep anguish over the attempted attack.

“There can be no words strong enough to capture the depth of anguish and sorrow felt by us,” the prime minister said, referring to the incident as an outrageous act.
Shehbaz Sharif also praised the Royal Saudi Armed Forces for what he described as their vigilance, courage and professionalism in responding to the attempted attack.
“We salute the extraordinary vigilance, courage, and professionalism of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces, for their swift and heroic action,” he said.
The prime minister also renewed his call for restraint amid escalating tensions in the region. He urged all parties to avoid further escalation and pursue diplomatic efforts to resolve disputes.
“I once again call upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint and to step back from the brink of further escalation,” Shehbaz Sharif said.
He said the region had already suffered extensively because of conflict and stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remained the only sustainable path toward peace.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia, saying Islamabad stood “unwaveringly, shoulder to shoulder” with the Kingdom in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to the security and sanctity of Haramain Sharifain, referring to the two holiest sites in Islam in Makkah and Madinah.
“Pakistan stands unwaveringly, shoulder to shoulder with the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Shehbaz Sharif said, adding that the security and sanctity of Haramain Sharifain was a duty held close to the heart of every Pakistani.
