ISLAMABAD: Security forces have killed 34 terrorists from the banned and groups in intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan the military’s media wing reported on Wednesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the operations were part of a counterterrorism campaign targeting Indian proxies. Fitna Al Khwarij refers to terrorists linked to the banned Tehreek i Taliban Pakistan while Fitna Al Hindustan comprises banned outfits active in Balochistan.
According to ISPR 26 Fitna Al Khwarij militants were killed in multiple engagements across KP including North Waziristan Lakki Marwat and Bannu districts while eight Fitna Al Hindustan terrorists were eliminated in Zhob, Balochistan. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered.
Security forces detected a group attempting to infiltrate from the Pakistan Afghanistan border, killing one Afghan national in the process. Operations to remove remaining terrorists are ongoing under the vision of Azm i Istehkam approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.
Prime Minister lauded the forces for their precision and professionalism reaffirming the government’s commitment to eradicating terrorism and achieving decisive successes against foreign sponsored terrorist networks.
