Pakistan has advised its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to Iran following a sharp escalation in the Middle East after coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Tehran. In an official statement, the Foreign Office urged Pakistani nationals currently in Iran to exercise extreme caution, limit unnecessary movement, and remain in contact with Pakistani diplomatic missions.
The advisory comes after the United States and Israel launched joint strikes targeting senior Iranian leadership and military facilities. In response, Iran reportedly carried out missile and drone attacks, intensifying fears of a broader regional conflict.
Pakistan’s embassy in Tehran, along with its consulates in Mashhad and Zahedan, has been directed to maintain close coordination with Pakistani nationals. Emergency contact numbers have been issued, and citizens have been advised to immediately report any unusual situations.
Authorities have also instructed air traffic controllers to closely monitor Pakistani airspace, particularly near the Iran-Afghanistan corridor. Pakistani airlines have been told to avoid Iranian airspace until further notice as global carriers reroute flights.
The government said the safety and security of Pakistani citizens remain a top priority amid growing regional instability.
