UAE Allows Residents With Expired Visas to Re-Enter Country Without New Permit

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

New policy by UAE authorities enables residents stranded abroad with expired residency permits to return without applying for a fresh visa.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security in the United Arab Emirates has announced a major relief measure for residents whose visas have expired while they are outside the country.

According to an official spokesperson, individuals holding expired residency permits will now be allowed to re-enter the UAE without applying for a new visa. The decision aims to support residents stranded abroad, including many living in Pakistan.

Under the new directive, residents currently staying outside the UAE can travel back using their expired residency status. Authorities confirmed that the move removes the requirement to obtain a fresh visa before returning to the country.

Officials said the policy is part of broader facilitation measures designed to ease travel regulations for expatriates who faced difficulties returning after their permits expired. The decision is expected to benefit thousands of residents who have been unable to re-enter the UAE due to administrative or travel restrictions.

The spokesperson added that the initiative reflects the UAE government’s continued efforts to support expatriate communities and ensure smoother mobility for residents living abroad.

Authorities have advised affected residents to check travel requirements and official updates before planning their return to the UAE.
