AJK Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani inspected the green electric bus terminal in Muzaffarabad and reviewed preparations for launching the new service.
MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani on Saturday thanked PML-N leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for providing green electric buses to AJK, saying the initiative would improve public transport facilities in Muzaffarabad.
Gilani expressed his appreciation during a visit to the Green Electric Bus Terminal in Muzaffarabad, where he inspected the buses supplied by the Punjab government and reviewed preparations for the launch of the service.
Officials briefed the prime minister on the proposed routes, terminal facilities and operational arrangements for the electric bus service.
Gilani also inspected the terminal and directed relevant departments to complete all necessary preparations to ensure the service becomes operational smoothly.
The AJK premier said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz had fulfilled their commitment to provide electric buses to the region ahead of the elections.
He said the PML-N government was focused on development, public welfare and addressing the difficulties faced by residents of AJK.
Gilani assured residents that his administration would take practical measures to address public grievances and reduce the sense of deprivation among citizens.
He said the government wanted people to see tangible improvements in their daily lives and feel that the new administration was actively working for the development and welfare of the region.
The prime minister added that the introduction of green electric buses would provide residents of Muzaffarabad with a modern, reliable and improved mode of transportation.
Senior Board of Revenue member Sardar Muhammad Zafar and other officials also briefed Gilani during the visit.
