Balochistan completes the integration of nearly 33,000 Levies personnel into the Police Department, ending the long-standing dual law enforcement structure.
A major transformation in Balochistan’s security framework has been completed as the Levies Force has officially been merged into the Balochistan Police, marking the end of a decades-old divided policing system in the province.
Officials confirmed that 32,942 Levies personnel have been integrated into the police force after the introduction of a new administrative structure. The development aims to create a single command system for maintaining law and order across Balochistan.
The merger also brings an end to the previous A and B area classifications, which had resulted in separate policing arrangements in different parts of the province. With the abolition of this system, all security and public safety responsibilities will now come under the Police Department.
Authorities believe the move will improve coordination, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure faster responses to security challenges. The integration is also expected to reduce differences in policing standards and strengthen institutional accountability.
The Inspector General of Balochistan Police welcomed the development, saying the addition of Levies personnel would increase the strength and capabilities of the force.
