ISLAMABAD: A major literary event is set to take place in the federal capital as the Karwan-e-Hawa Literary Forum Islamabad Chapter announced a special ceremony featuring prominent writers, scholars and literary personalities.
The ceremony will be held on May 21, 2026, at the Conference Hall of the Pakistan Academy of Letters in Islamabad. The event is scheduled to begin at 4:30 PM and is expected to attract literature enthusiasts, poets, students and members of the academic community.
The ceremony will focus on three major literary themes, including “Samar Hayat Ka” by Saeed Ahmed Akhtar, “Ghulam Muhammad Qasir-Shakhsiyat Aur Fun” by Dr. Tariq Hashmi, and “Dil Mein Qandeel-e-Gham” by Khawar Ahmed. The sessions aim to promote intellectual discourse and encourage deeper engagement with Urdu literature and contemporary thought.
Renowned literary figure Iftikhar Arif will preside over the ceremony, while distinguished scholars Dr. Tariq Hashmi, Dr. Shabab Safdar and Khalid Mustafa are expected to participate as keynote speakers and discussants.
Khawar Ahmed will serve as the chief guest at the event, while Dr. Humera Ishfaq has been assigned the responsibility of presenting reflections and observations during the session. The event proceedings will be moderated by Manzar Naqvi.
The Karwan-e-Hawa Literary Forum has been actively organizing literary and intellectual gatherings aimed at reviving reading culture and promoting meaningful discussions around Urdu language and literature.
