Recruitment drive aims to enhance healthcare services across urban and remote districts of the province
PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has issued appointment orders to 125 newly recruited medical officers on a fixed-pay basis in a move aimed at strengthening the province’s healthcare system.
The appointment letters were distributed during a ceremony chaired by Provincial Health Minister Khaliq ur Rehman. Out of a total of 165 selected candidates, 125 medical officers received their official appointment letters, while Secretary Health Shahidullah Khan was also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, the health minister congratulated the newly appointed doctors and welcomed them to the provincial health department. He emphasized that the recruitment process was conducted strictly on merit, ensuring transparency, fairness, and zero political influence.
He said the government is actively working to fill gaps in human resources by recruiting a large number of doctors across all districts. This initiative, he added, is part of broader efforts to improve the delivery of healthcare services and strengthen the public health infrastructure.
Khaliq ur Rehman further stated that all healthcare facilities, particularly at primary and secondary levels, are being made fully functional to ensure access to quality medical care for the public. He reiterated the government’s commitment to extending healthcare services to remote and underserved areas.
He urged the newly appointed doctors to serve with dedication, professionalism, and compassion, highlighting that patient care and ethical conduct are essential for improving the overall healthcare system.
Secretary Health Shahidullah Khan also addressed the gathering, advising doctors to uphold professional ethics and maintain high standards in their duties.
