The Kremlin has strongly condemned the killing of senior Iranian leaders in recent U.S.-Israeli strikes, calling the attacks murder and urging restraint. Among those killed was Ali Larijani a key figure in Iran’s security establishment reportedly targeted in Tehran.
Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz confirmed that Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib was also killed stating that Israeli forces are authorized to target senior Iranian officials. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed continued operations against Iran’s leadership.
Iran responded with missile strikes on Tel Aviv causing civilian casualties and damage in nearby areas such as Ramat Gan. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that Tehran’s nuclear policy remains unchanged and called for new security measures in the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile the United States has intensified strikes on Iranian missile sites, while President Donald Trump signaled readiness to act independently. The conflict has disrupted global energy markets with oil prices surging and regional tensions spreading to Lebanon, where ongoing airstrikes have caused significant casualties and displacement.
