Lahore police data shows theft remained the most common crime, while kidnapping, robbery, murder, and violence against women also recorded significant numbers during the first six months of the year.
Lahore witnessed more than 43,000 reported criminal incidents during the past six months, according to a crime report released by the city police, highlighting persistent law and order challenges in Pakistan’s provincial capital.
The report showed that theft remained the most frequently reported crime, with more than 28,000 cases registered across the city. Police also recorded 744 robbery cases and 1,143 burglary incidents, underscoring the continuing threat to public safety and property.
Violent crime also remained a concern. Authorities registered 141 murder cases and 249 attempted murder cases during the reporting period. In addition, 414 cases involving violence against women were reported, while police documented 54 gang-rape cases and 386 cases related to child abuse.
Kidnapping accounted for another major category. According to the report, police registered around 4,070 cases involving the abduction of young men and women, alongside 1,162 child kidnapping cases.
The report also recorded 508 cases of cattle theft, reflecting the broad range of crimes reported across Lahore.
