Major Road Closures Announced in Islamabad Red Zone Amid Security Measures

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Multiple key routes in Islamabad’s Red Zone closed as authorities enforce heightened security protocols, disrupting daily commute

ISLAMABAD: Authorities in Islamabad have announced the closure of multiple major roads within the Red Zone as part of heightened security arrangements, causing significant disruption to traffic flow in the federal capital.

According to officials, Kashmir Chowk Club Road leading to Zero Point on Srinagar Highway has been closed to all traffic. The Srinagar Highway stretch from Zero Point to Serena Chowk is also affected, limiting access to one of the city’s busiest corridors.

In addition, Shakar Parian Road from Chandtara Chowk to 7th Avenue has been shut down, restricting movement in surrounding sectors. Jinnah Avenue, a central commercial artery, is closed from Khayaban Chowk to the Blue Area, impacting businesses and daily commuters.

Authorities further confirmed that Margalla Road from Faisal Chowk to Trail 3 will remain inaccessible, affecting access to recreational areas in the Margalla Hills.

Traffic police have advised citizens to use alternate routes and plan their travel in advance to avoid inconvenience. Commuters heading toward government offices and diplomatic enclaves are expected to face delays due to the restrictions.

Officials have not specified the exact duration of these closures but indicated that the measures are part of ongoing security protocols. Citizens are urged to stay updated through official traffic advisories.
