Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif welcomed the prime minister’s relief package and praised the PML-N leadership for supporting people amid rising global oil prices.

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Monday welcomed the relief package announced by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for the public, describing it as a commendable step amid difficult economic circumstances.

Maryam Nawaz also thanked PML-N President Nawaz Sharif for his role in the relief package and praised the party’s leadership for showing concern for the people during a challenging period.

“The PML-N leadership’s concern for the people in difficult times is commendable,” Maryam Nawaz said.

She said the rising trend in oil prices in the international market was creating difficulties for people in developing countries. According to her, the impact of higher petroleum prices was being felt by people across different segments of society around the world.

The Punjab chief minister said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had introduced the relief package on the direction of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.

She described the package as a positive step, particularly given the prevailing economic challenges, and said efforts to provide relief to the public were important during difficult times.

Maryam Nawaz said the increase in petroleum product prices was affecting every segment of society globally, highlighting the broader impact of changes in international oil markets.
