In Karachi, Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, expressed hope for the return of spectators to the Pakistan Super League.
Speaking to the media at National Bank Stadium, he said he would consult Shehbaz Sharif after reviewing the global situation before making a final decision regarding allowing crowds.
Naqvi stated that efforts are being made to bring spectators back to PSL matches. He added that the prime minister, the field marshal, and other stakeholders are working together to ensure peace, and successfully hosting the PSL under current conditions is a major achievement for law enforcement agencies.
He further said that due to the absence of spectators, the PCB and franchises will cover gate money losses themselves. However, if permission is granted for crowds to return, the match schedule will remain unchanged.
Commenting on the regional situation, Naqvi claimed that there are long queues at petrol pumps in India due to fuel shortages, while Pakistan is not facing such issues.
Responding to rumors about becoming chairman of the International Cricket Council, Naqvi said he already has many responsibilities.
