PM Shehbaz Orders Monthly Review of National Youth Employment Policy

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

PM Shehbaz Sharif directs ministries and institutions to coordinate youth employment, skills training and domestic and overseas job opportunities.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the government to accelerate coordinated measures under Pakistan’s National Youth Employment Policy, stressing that skilled and talented young people must be provided with dignified employment opportunities at home and abroad.

Chairing a review meeting on implementation of the policy in Islamabad on Tuesday, Shehbaz ordered that progress on the National Youth Employment Policy be reviewed every month to ensure that its objectives translate into practical opportunities for young Pakistanis.

The prime minister said the government’s decision to launch the country’s first National Youth Employment Policy reflected its efforts to create better employment prospects for the younger generation. He emphasized that inter-ministerial coordination and a comprehensive strategy were essential for effective implementation.

Shehbaz also called for special attention to increasing employment opportunities for women and ensuring that young people, particularly those in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, benefit from the policy.

According to a briefing, reforms have been introduced in NAVTTC and SMEDA to better align Pakistan’s skilled workforce with business and industrial demand in domestic and international markets. NAVTTC is also working on international certifications and language training to improve the employability of Pakistani workers overseas.

Officials said young people are being trained according to market demand to help them secure employment abroad. The Digital Youth Hub is providing information on domestic and international employment opportunities through a unified platform.

The government is also establishing Youth Development Cells in educational institutions to provide career counseling, guidance and information about employment and skills-development opportunities.

Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashhood briefed the meeting on measures taken in line with the prime minister’s directives. The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Economic Affairs Minister Ahad Khan Cheema, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar, Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik, IT Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja and other senior officials.
