Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief over the deaths of 14 children in a fire at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Hospital.
In a post on X, Nawaz Sharif said he was deeply saddened after hearing about the deaths of the children in the tragic incident.
“I share the grief of the bereaved parents,” Nawaz Sharif said, extending his condolences to the families who lost their children.
He prayed that Allah Almighty grant patience and strength to the heirs and bereaved families to bear the loss.
Nawaz Sharif also called on the government to determine those responsible for the incident and take strict action against them.
He further urged the authorities to ensure effective measures are taken to prevent such incidents from occurring again in the future.
The former prime minister’s remarks came as condolences and calls for accountability followed the reported deaths at PIMS Hospital.
Nawaz Sharif stressed the need for the government to identify those responsible and take steps to ensure the safety of patients, particularly children, in healthcare facilities.
