Pakistani actor Momina Iqbal’s cyber harassment complaint against PML-N MPA Saqib Chadhar has taken a significant turn after authorities registered a case under the PECA Act following a forensic investigation.
Pakistani television star Momina Iqbal has secured a major development in her ongoing legal dispute with Saqib Chadhar after the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) registered an FIR against the lawmaker under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
The controversy began when Momina approached authorities, alleging that Saqib Chadhar had been harassing her and attempting to disrupt her personal life, including her wedding plans. The actor recently married Muhammad Hamza Habib, a ceremony that attracted widespread attention on social media.
According to details cited in the FIR, the case was registered after forensic examinations of mobile devices belonging to both parties. The complaint alleges that Saqib Chadhar, his wife, and several associates were involved in a sustained online campaign targeting Momina, including cyberbullying and threats.
Momina stated that the alleged harassment began after she declined a marriage proposal from Saqib upon learning that he was already married. She further claimed that an earlier marriage proposal in 2023 was sabotaged and that she later faced intimidation involving threats to leak private videos if she proceeded with her marriage to Hamza Habib.
Following the collection of what investigators described as sufficient evidence, the NCCIA moved forward with the case. However, Saqib Chadhar has obtained interim bail from a court in Lahore, preventing his arrest while legal proceedings continue.
