PCB chairman signals PSL 12 expansion with new venues as PSL 11 concludes successfully amid tight security and massive fan turnout in Lahore.
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is heading toward a significant transformation, as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) prepares to expand the tournament’s footprint in its next edition. Following the successful conclusion of PSL 11, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi hinted at a bold new direction that could redefine the league’s scale and reach.
Speaking informally to journalists after the PSL 11 final in Lahore, Naqvi confirmed that PSL 12 will be “bigger and better,” with additional venues under serious consideration. The proposed expansion is aimed at bringing top-tier cricket to more cities across Pakistan, widening fan engagement beyond traditional host locations.
The announcement has sparked anticipation among cricket followers, as the PCB looks to capitalize on the growing popularity of the league. Officials suggest that new venues could help strengthen regional cricket culture while providing fresh opportunities for domestic infrastructure development.
PSL 11 concluded on a high note in Lahore, where a packed stadium of more than 35,000 spectators witnessed the final in a vibrant and peaceful atmosphere. The event was widely praised for its smooth execution, strong attendance, and festive energy.
Law enforcement authorities highlighted the tournament as a major operational success. According to DIG Operations Faisal Kamran, a four-layer security system was deployed to ensure uninterrupted safety throughout the competition. Over 7,000 security personnel, along with specialized units including Safe City, Elite Force, Dolphin Squad, and PRU, were involved in the arrangements.
Officials confirmed that all 22 matches held in Lahore were completed without any security incidents. Full protection was provided to players, match officials, and spectators, including international participants, reinforcing Pakistan’s growing reputation as a safe destination for global cricket events.
The successful completion of PSL 11, combined with plans for expansion, reflects the PCB’s broader strategy to elevate the league’s status. With PSL 12 expected to feature more cities and larger audiences, the tournament appears set to enter a new phase of growth and national reach.
As excitement builds, cricket fans across the country are now looking ahead to what could be the most expansive and competitive edition of the Pakistan Super League yet.
