Punjab Food Authority Seizes Substandard Juice Factories Ahead of Eid in Sargodha

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Authorities recover over 200 liters of unsafe juice as part of pre-Eid food safety drive

Punjab Food Authority officials carried out a major crackdown in Sargodha ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr, seizing two factories involved in producing substandard juice, authorities said on Tuesday.

The operation took place in the New Islam Pura area, where inspection teams raided two juice manufacturing units suspected of violating food safety regulations. During the raid, more than 200 liters of low-quality juice bottles were recovered from the premises.

According to officials, on-site testing of the juice samples revealed that the products failed to meet required health and safety standards. Authorities warned that the unsafe beverages were intended for widespread distribution across the city during Eid, a time when consumption of such drinks significantly increases, particularly among children.

“This timely action has prevented the sale of hazardous products in the market,” an official statement said, emphasizing the importance of strict monitoring before major holidays.

Cases have been registered against the owners of both factories, and further legal proceedings are underway. The authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe food items for the public, especially during festive seasons.

Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any complaints regarding food quality to the official helpline, 1223.

The crackdown is part of a broader campaign by the Punjab Food Authority to curb the production and sale of adulterated food products across the province ahead of Eid celebrations.
