Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed solidarity with China after flash floods and landslides struck a border region, offering Pakistan’s support for relief efforts.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep condolences to the leadership and people of China following flash floods and landslides that struck a border region of the country.
In a post on X, Shehbaz said the Pakistani government and people shared China’s grief over the loss of lives and people reported missing in the disaster.
“The loss of precious lives and those missing as a result of this tragedy evokes our profound grief and solidarity with the Chinese brethren,” the prime minister said.
Shehbaz said Pakistan stood ready to extend all possible support and assistance to China as search and relief operations continued.
He also conveyed his thoughts to the families who lost loved ones and prayed for the recovery of those injured in the disaster.
“Our thoughts are with the bereaved families, and we pray for the swift recovery of the injured and the safe return of all those missing,” he said.
The prime minister’s message came as emergency teams continued search and relief operations following the flash floods and landslides.
