Three officials who were part of the discussions later spoke to American media and revealed that President Trump told G7 leaders that Iran is “close to surrender.” According to the officials, Trump claimed that there are hardly any senior Iranian officials left who could formally announce a surrender. His remarks suggested that the Iranian leadership structure has been severely weakened during the ongoing tensions.
Trump also said that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most critical oil shipping routes, is gradually improving. He encouraged commercial ships to resume operations in the area, indicating that security conditions are stabilizing.
However, despite his comments, Trump did not clearly outline a timeline or detailed objectives for ending the conflict with Iran. According to U.S. media, several G7 leaders urged Trump to work toward an immediate end to the war and ensure that the Strait of Hormuz becomes fully secure as soon as possible.
The leaders reportedly emphasized that restoring stability in the region is essential for global trade and energy markets.
