Sarfraz Virk Appointed Islamabad Chief Traffic Officer After Promotion to Grade 19

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Experienced officer returns to traffic management role as Islamabad fills key vacancy following administrative reshuffle.

ISLAMABAD: Authorities have appointed Sarfraz Virk as the new Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Islamabad, following approval from Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, according to official sources.

Virk, recently promoted to Grade 19, is a seasoned police officer from the 42nd Common Training Program. He is currently serving as Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in the Special Branch and brings extensive experience in traffic management to his new role.

He has previously served as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic in Islamabad, as well as holding positions as Superintendent of Police (SP) within the traffic police. His return to the capital’s traffic department is seen as a strategic move to strengthen urban traffic regulation and enforcement.

The CTO position had been vacant after former officer Hamza Humayun proceeded on a training course, creating a temporary leadership gap in the department.

Officials say Virk’s prior experience in handling Islamabad’s traffic challenges is expected to help address congestion, improve road discipline, and enhance enforcement measures in the federal capital
