The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a two-year ban on Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani from the Pakistan Super League (PSL after he allegedly violated his contract with Islamabad United.
The 29-year-old pacer was picked by Islamabad United for PSL 11 draft at a price of PKR 11 million. However, he later withdrew from his commitment and signed with Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he was selected as a replacement for Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman.
Following this decision, the PCB took strict disciplinary action. After a detailed review, Muzarabani has been declared ineligible for the next two PSL seasons.
PCB officials stated that his withdrawal violated the core principles of franchise agreements, which require players to honor their commitments once contracts are finalized.
The board emphasized that the PSL structure is built on trust, reliability, and professional integrity, and any breach disrupts team planning and damages the credibility of franchise-based tournaments.
In its official statement, the PCB said professional cricket depends on consistent conduct and ethical behavior from all participants. It further warned that allowing such breaches without consequences would undermine trust among franchises, players, and stakeholders.
The PCB reiterated that protecting the integrity of the competition remains its top priority.
