Rawalpindi’s Electric Bus Revolution Nears Major Launch as New Routes and Stations Take Shape

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Rawalpindi’s ambitious electric bus project is moving rapidly toward completion, with authorities expecting the construction of new bus stop shelters across the city to finish within the next week. The development marks a major step toward improving public transport infrastructure in the twin cities and easing daily commuting challenges for thousands of residents.

According to the district administration, new bus bays are currently being built at several important locations including Fatima Jinnah Women University, District Courts, Murqa-e-Haq Chowk, Old Airport Road, State Bank, and Gymkhana. Officials say the upgraded facilities are designed to support the expansion of the city’s eco-friendly transport network.

Authorities further revealed that work on drainage systems, street lighting, footpaths, service roads, and the Annex Chowk underpass near Jinnah Park has entered its final phase. The remaining construction activities are expected to be completed soon to ensure smooth traffic flow before the launch of additional routes.

The Punjab Mass Transit Authority has also announced that 35 more electric buses will soon arrive in Rawalpindi. Within the next month, the total fleet is expected to increase from 45 to 80 buses, significantly expanding transport capacity for commuters.

Once the new routes become operational, residents will be able to travel more conveniently across major areas of Rawalpindi including Rawat T-Chowk, Koral Chowk, Swan Bridge, Motorway routes, Railway Station, and Saddar. Officials believe the expanded network will reduce travel time and improve access to busy commercial and residential zones.

A new route from Saddar to Hamrahi Bus Stop is also being launched, aimed at improving connectivity to the Swan River area and the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench. The initiative is being viewed as part of a broader effort to modernize urban transportation and promote environmentally friendly travel solutions in Rawalpindi.
