Islamabad witnessed extraordinary security measures on Eidul Azha as more than 7,000 police officers and personnel were deployed across the federal capital to ensure peaceful religious gatherings and public safety.
According to a police spokesperson, comprehensive security arrangements were implemented at mosques, Eidgahs, and major prayer venues throughout the city. Authorities said the largest Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque, where security was significantly tightened due to the large turnout of worshippers.
Officials stated that advanced surveillance systems, including Safe City cameras and modern monitoring technology, were actively used to oversee sensitive locations, prayer grounds, and public areas. The surveillance network enabled authorities to maintain real-time vigilance and respond quickly to any security concerns during Eid prayers.
Inspector General of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi personally supervised the security operation and reviewed arrangements across the capital, according to the spokesperson.
The police chief also extended Eid greetings to citizens and police personnel, expressing prayers for national peace, stability, and prosperity. He said he hoped Allah would always keep Pakistan “a cradle of peace, stability and prosperity.”
The extensive deployment comes as authorities across Pakistan remain on high alert during Eidul Azha, a period that typically sees large public gatherings and increased movement in cities nationwide.
