Crackdown under DPO Ahmed Shah’s anti-narcotics campaign leads to arrest of two suspects in Misri Banda police limits
NOWSHERA: (Anwar Zeb Khan) Police in Nowshera arrested two suspected drug dealers and seized more than eight kilograms of hashish during a targeted crackdown in the Akora Khattak circle, officials said on Tuesday.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Akhtar Naseer Khan and SHO Hidayat Shah of Misri Banda police station, following directives from District Police Officer Ahmed Shah as part of his “Drug-Free Nowshera” campaign.
Police said suspect Farzand, son of Muhammad Sher and a resident of Rashakai, was found in possession of 3,455 grams of hashish. Another suspect, Amjad, son of Fazal and also a resident of Rashakai, allegedly had 4,575 grams of hashish.
In total, authorities recovered 8 kilograms and 30 grams of hashish along with 245 grams of crystal meth, commonly known as ice.
Cases have been registered against both suspects under the Anti-Narcotics Act, and a formal investigation has been launched.
The district police chief reiterated that indiscriminate action against drug traffickers would continue, vowing sustained efforts to eliminate narcotics from society.
