Peshawar:(Anwer Zeb Khan)- Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sohaib Afridi, has accused the federal government of treating the province like a “stepchild,” claiming that more than Rs 4,400 billion in dues are still owed to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Addressing a public gathering, the Chief Minister said that Pakistan’s situation is deteriorating day by day, with worsening economic conditions and serious law-and-order challenges across the country. He emphasized that youth are the future of Pakistan and will ultimately be responsible for stabilizing the country, urging young people to dream big and play an active role in shaping the nation.
He stressed the need for equal application of the law, stating that anyone who considers themselves above the law must be brought before the courts.
Criticizing the situation in Punjab, Sohaib Afridi claimed that the province is under what he described as a civil martial law. He alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is not allowed to hoist party flags or hold corner meetings there.
The Chief Minister further claimed that PTI MPAs and MNAs from Punjab have informed him that the registration numbers of their vehicles are being tampered with and that their guards’ weapons are confiscated before altering vehicle details. He also alleged that senior PTI leaders are being subjected to violence.
Addressing the youth, he said that it is their responsibility to replace these “oppressive elements” and encouraged young people to criticize him openly, emphasizing accountability and transparency.
