Imran Khan Is Healthy, Khawaja Asif Says as Health Concerns Spark Debate

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says Imran Khan is in good health, with his eye condition improving and a minor blood pressure issue being treated with medication.

ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan is in good health, seeking to ease concerns surrounding the incarcerated opposition leader’s medical condition.

Speaking during a session of the National Assembly, Asif said details about Imran Khan’s health would eventually become public. He also pointed to a recent meeting between Imran’s sister and the former prime minister, saying she could provide information about his current condition.

According to the defence minister, Imran Khan’s eye-related problem has gradually improved. He said the PTI founder was experiencing a minor blood pressure issue and was receiving medication for it.

Asif maintained that Imran Khan’s health should not be turned into a political controversy. He said medical matters should be treated on their merits rather than being given a political dimension.

The defence minister also referred to his own experience in prison, recalling an occasion when he was told that he required surgery for a hernia. He said Imran Khan had demanded video evidence at the time to verify whether the procedure was actually being performed, adding that he still has that video.

“I say on oath that there is no serious issue with Imran Khan,” Asif said while discussing the former prime minister’s health.

The minister also brought up former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s medical history, saying Sharif had undergone two surgeries about two months earlier. He argued that despite this, public discussion had continued around Sharif’s platelet count.

Asif accused Imran Khan of previously making political remarks about Nawaz Sharif’s health, particularly regarding his platelet levels. He also alleged that Imran had made similar comments about illness during political rallies in the United States.

The defence minister further recalled the imprisonment of political leaders in previous periods, arguing that opposition figures had remained behind bars while their colleagues continued parliamentary activities without linking government business to demands for their release.
